Welcome to Abbots Lodge, bed and breakfast accommodation near the Herefordshire/Shropshire border, in the village of Wigmore.

We only have one generous double room, so we can afford to make your stay extra special!

What we want is for you to enjoy the same things we would like when we go away - fresh milk with your tea, space inside and out for relaxing, and a separate entrance to come and go by!

With access from its own south facing terrace, the bedroom  is characterised by space, light, peace and views across the nearby rooftops and wooded valley.  As well as a king sized bed, there is a sitting area with log-burning stove, an en-suite shower room and a kitchen.  A television is provided and wireless broadband is also available.

Abbots Lodge is located in a delightfully peaceful setting between the church and the medieval castle.  An unconventional  property, it makes the very most of the elevated site and far reaching views. Having spotted its potential, we have enjoyed working on the renovation project, using John’s architectural as well as his cabinet making skills, (examples of which you might spot during your stay!).  

The woodlands around Wigmore are full of beautiful walks and wildlife, and you might even come across John’s self-built oak cruck barn! Click here to read more about our woodland and barn.

A short, beautiful and picturesque drive to the east through Mortimer Forest brings you to the historic town of Ludlow, renowned for its food and arts festivals as well as its fine dining, and high quality local food suppliers.
